Thank you for visiting
HD Korea Shipbuilding
& Offshore Engineering's website.
The shipbuilding industry has finally overcome the prolonged recession and entered a boom period. While the five years since the launch of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering were about strengthening our fundamentals to overcome a life-or-death crisis, the following five years will be a period where we secure unrivaled competitiveness and new growth engines to prepare for the group’s future 100 years.
First, we will become a one-and-only shipyard that has unrivaled competitiveness in technology and quality.
To reach this status, we need to secure an overwhelming technological gap and gain competitiveness in quality with era-defining innovation that our competitors can not dream of following. Including the world’s first medium-sized ammonia-powered vessel, we will secure an gap ahead of others in eco-friendly propulsion technologies such as fuel cells, hydrogen, and nuclear power, along with autonomous navigation technologies that are already leading the industry. With such competence, we will become the only shipyard that is capable of providing integrated solutions for future eco-friendly and digital ships.
Second, we will secure new growth engines by setting bold goals and continuously challenging ourselves.
HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering's businesses used to be limited to design, sales, and R&D just two years ago. However, we have now expanded our business to developing eco-friendly ships by creating the SD Business Division and EP Business Division. Last year, we also launched HD Hyundai Marine Engine to expand our portfolio for ship propulsion engines, and established HD Hydrogen that specialize in solid oxide fuel cells, to prepare for the future hydrogen era. In addition, we are accelerating the expansion of overseas yards in Vietnam and the Philippines to open up business in the US Navy MRO and offshore wind power sectors. Through these efforts, we will continuously create future growth engines and lead our group’s future for the next 100 years.
Third, we will foster a transparent and fair business environment by making voluntary compliance with fair trade a core principle of corporate management.
We will strengthen our mutual growth with partner companies and strictly comply with laws and ethics throughout the entire transaction process to create a trustworthy corporate culture. Through this, we will establish a fair, competitive order and contribute to achieving sustainable growth.
Please support us as we begin this new exciting journey.
